Victor's VH4

NAME:
→ VH4 – Vintovka Hydra #4
TYPE:
→ Magi
LEVEL:
→ Level one
FORM:
→ A multi-purpose rifle with interchangeable barrels and ammunition.
PICTURE:

BRIEFING:
→ The Vintovka Hydra #4 is Victor’s own invention. Wanting to be able to perform multiple functions on a single day with one gun, he made a shell for different gun barrels and ammunition types to slot in. He invented it when he was 22 as the VH, but now has been reinvented 3 more times. He currently has four “modes” for it.
→ VH-Z – The original purpose for the Hydra as the VH was to be both a sniper rifle and shorter ranged carbine with the twist of the barrel. Its other barrels have made the carbine function redundant, a capability Victor sacrificed to make the sniper rifle barrel, VH-Z, even better. More accurate at longer ranges than any of its competitors, it can consistently hit a 5 inch diameter circle at 250 yards. However, for this accuracy, it sacrifices any real power, able to kill a man but not punch through anything tougher than a big block of wood.
→ VH-P – The VH-P is the complete opposite of the VH-Z. Unlike the other modes, it’s not made for use like a rifle, but more like a hand cannon. That’s essentially what it is, in fact, firing rounds the size of pint glasses and made to obliterate whatever is in front of it. Extremely powerful but only able for close range use and slow to reload, Victor prefers to use this in ambushing opponents or smashing his way through walls, and wouldn’t dare use it if his target knew he was coming.
→ VH-B - The third mode is the most versatile of the VH modes. It turns the Hydra into a belt-fed light machine gun with a high rate of fire. It is not very accurate, simply spraying wildly, but when it comes to crowd suppression or taking out someone in a room it is unmatched in Victor’s arsenal.
→ VH-T – This is the only barrel that has a Tera chip. Upon finding out that Ayakashi can only be hurt by Tera, he bought a Tera gun from a guild of demon hunters, took it apart and turned the VH3 to the VH4. He loads what are essentially lead balls into the barrel and pulls the trigger, upon which the gun barrel lets out a massive blast that rips right through Ayakashi that are near. It is deadly to Ayakashi, but as an actual weapon Victor hates it. It’s very short range, expensive to maintain and can really only work at close range, so Victor would rather use VH-Z, P and B to cripple an Ayakashi, before finishing them off at close range with the VH-T.
He carries all of the components and ammo for the VH4 in a large heavy box that he wheels around at all times. It has wheels, which makes moving it easy, but it’s still very slow work and explains a lot of Victor’s general slowness when it comes to moving around.
CONSEQUENCES:
→ There are no physical consequences of using the Tera barrel of the VH4 upon Victor, but its problems come in that it is practically unusable on a target that isn’t already crippled, and can only get a guaranteed kill shot if said target isn’t more than an arm’s reach away. The lead shots have to be custom made, making the weapon very expensive and the ammunition for it limited at any given time. If he misses with it or if he doesn’t get a perfect kill, Victor has to take a few seconds just to reload it again, which is why he flat out refuses to fit chips in his more preferred modes.
Even considering this, the VH-4 has several problems as a weapon. Its versatility comes at the cost of requiring lots of preparation for it to work. It takes ten seconds for Victor to swap it from one barrel to the other, which makes switching modes in a firefight almost impossible.
