Crew of the Libération (WIP)

Bienvenue! And welcome to the Libération-- the finest ship to ever grace the skies, designed, owned, and captained by yours truly, the great Giselle Lamoureux! Please, hold your applause. Now ask yourself, what does a person desire more than anything else? Wealth? Safety? Power? If you answered any of those things, you're a bit daft in the head. The correct answers is freedom! No matter how content you are with sitting on your ass, eating a pastry and getting fatter, you will never know true happiness until you are truly free in this world. But in a world where titans roam the earth, how can we, as humans, be free in such an oppressive world? The answer is simple: When there is no room left on earth, humanity shall soar through the skies. Out here in this vast sea of clouds and endless blue horizon, we are truly free-- free to go wherever the whims of our hearts desire. Uncaged by the walls of civilization, free from the shackles of blissful ignorance, we may learn what it truly means to be free in this world of ours.

And if that isn't enough for you, crew members get shore leave, food, booze, and bitchin' uniforms.

Duties

Captain: The captain is at the top of the chain of command on a ship, and what the captain says, goes. Out in the lawlessness of the skies, the words of the captain is the law that binds the ship and crew together. The captain has the privilege and the responsibility of issuing orders down the chain of command, plotting courses of action and objectives for the ship, and is generally first and foremost responsible for the well being of the ship and the crew-alike.

1st Mate: The 1st mate is the second in command on the ship to which he or she is assigned. In case of the absence or incapacitation of the Captain, the 1st mate is to take charge of the ship. But mainly, whilst the Captain is still able and willing to act, the job of the 1st mate is to relay orders made by the captain and make decisions regarding minor concerns and incidents that the captain need not be troubled with. The 1st mate of a ship should be well experienced in sailing as well as being a leader of men.

2nd Mate: Much like the 1st mate, the 2nd mate is 3rd in command of the ship's chain and acts as captain if something were to happen to both the captain and the 1st mate. Most of the duties of the 2nd mate are similar in function to the 1st mate, other than the fact that the 2nd mate reports to the 1st mate and follows his orders, unless overridden by the captain's orders.

Master Carpenter/Rigger: The master carpenter is in charge of they physical condition of the ship, as well as issuing orders to other repairmen aboard the ship. The Master Carpenter and his fellow crewmates are expected to perform repairs to the ship's hull, rigging, and balloons on demand as well as generally maintain the ship through regular repairs and cleaning. Mechanical issues with equipment aboard the ship is also generally left to the authority and skills of the Master Carpenter.

Master Gunner: The Master gunner is responsible for directing each cannon and the crew that mans them in the heat of battle. He or she receives orders from the captain and acts accordingly; directing the line of fire, calling when to fire and making emergency decisions in the chaos of a skirmish. The Master Gunner should be a veteran sailor, commander, and cannoneer.
